The beer from the historic St. Louis brewery made by Adolphus Busch.

The founder, Adolphus Busch, traveled to America from Germany in 1857, determined to make his dreams come true. After fighting for the Union during the Civil War, Adolphus joined his father-in-law's business, bringing with him great and ambitious ideas. In 1879, the company name was officially changed to Anheuser-Busch Brewing Association. After Eberhard's death in 1880, Adolfo became president. Before the introduction of Budweiser, many Americans drank dark, heavy beers. But the St. Louis summers were hot, perfect for a crisp, pale ale. Budweiser smoothness and drinkability were a hit. Budweiser quickly became very popular not only in St. Louis, but in America. And the brewery has remained faithful to the original recipe ever since.
