It was founded in 1859: Luigi Moretti opened the Brewery and Ice Factory in Udine, when Friuli was still part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. He is thirty-seven years old, comes from a family of wholesalers and wears long mustaches.
1960: A year of trials, experiments and attempts, and from Luigi's factory comes out the first bottle of Birra Moretti.
Today it is the best-selling lager in Italy and is exported to over 40 countries.
