InBev was the world's largest brewer by quantity. It represents a market share of about 13%, and a production of 190 million hectolitres of beer and 25 million hectolitres of lemonade. The group has about 86,000 employees (2007).
On July 14, 2008, InBev SA/NV acquired At a cost of $52 billion ($70 per share) from Anheuser-Busch, an American company that held the Budweiser brand in particular. This operation will give rise to the formation of another company, anheuser-busch inbev, which manages about 300 brands of beer. With this operation the newborn anheuser-busch inbev became the parent company and InBev and Anheuser-Busch became mere subsidiaries controlled by the parent company.
