It is obtained from the processing of leaves and sprigs of a shrub of leguminous that grows in the plateau near Cape Town. The fermentation process gives the drink its characteristic red color. Ananas and ginger add a very aromatic exotic taste. It doesn't contain caffeine.

The processing of the leaves is steamed, according to the Japanese method, in order to prevent oxidation thus keeping the organoleptic characteristics and beneficial properties of the tea.
